This morning I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jacqueline Teoh at a local Starbucks for a fly-by first meeting. It was very lovely to have even a few minutes together. Jackie showed me a series of her photos from her recent shamanic initiations in Mongolia. It was thrilling to see the ceremonies and the yurts and the landscape, and to see photos of her teachers. We were talking so much we forgot to take photos of ourselves together, sigh. I want to go to Mongolia very very much with Jackie, meet her teachers, and see the extraordinary Deer Stones she showed us here on FB a few months ago. Then I had yet another exciting Frog Rescue. I pulled out of the Starbucks parking lot by the Beltway, onto New Hampshire Avenue going north. After waiting at the first traffic light, I was accelerating when I saw to my horror that there was a full grown Tree Frog clinging with all its sticky toes to the space between my rearview mirror and the car door. ACK ACK ACK, I turned off into the first side street. SOME PEOPLE might describe my car as a bit messy, but that means it is well supplied with Frog Catching Devices. As you see, I used a to-go cup to catch and transport the Frog to a better environment than the asphalt of a six lane, 45 mph road. Huge gusty sigh of relief.
