This morning I wrote these words in a little notebook that I keep beside me in my little ‘early morning spot’. About half an hour later, my big girl, Cherish, 23yrs, called me from Dubrovnik. For her, it was 2am. She couldn’t sleep, a big party going on down the hill and her mind was full of life. I told her I’d just written a little poem and it seemed relevant, I read it to her. We had a deliciously philosophical conversation and I tucked her in. Nite, Cherry. Sleep tight. Enjoy your early morning flight to Rome. Your children are never too old to be read a bed-time story.
