MSNBC, home of the Reverend Al Sharpton, has been a hotbed of support for Michael Brown and criticism of his assailant Darren Wilson. This morning, one host on the left-leaning network registered his dissent in a big way. “Somebody needs to tell me why Michael Brown has been chosen as the face of black oppression,” Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said. Scarborough contrasted Brown’s death with that of Trayvon Martin, and accused conservatives of being on the wrong side of the latter by reflexively defending Martin’s shooter, George Zimmerman. “He’s a thug and right-wingers embraced George Zimmerman as a hero, and in so doing, they humiliated themselves,” he said. He then blasted liberals for doing the same thing with Michael Brown. “There are so many great people to embrace as heroes in the black community, that deciding you’re going to embrace a guy that knocked over a convenience store, and then, according to grand jury testimony, acted in ways that would get my children shot on Staten Island, or in Queens, or in Brooklyn—that’s your hero?” he said. Scarborough called yesterday’s NFL game, before which the St. Louis Rams entered the field making the “hands up, don’t shoot” sign, “the last straw for me.” “I have sat here quietly and listened to BS being spewed all over this network and all over other networks. I can’t take it anymore,” he said. Read more at rare.us/story/msnbc-host-fed-up-with-his-networks-bs-over-ferguson-i-cant-take-it-anymore/#Jg5ykEjY0eC5iHRG.99
