This morning, for the first time, Ive have blocked a recording artist from my page. Its not something Ive done for fun. Heres why I did it I have, many times in the past supported this artist and played his music on my shows. If Im one thing, its honest. If you ask my opinion, my opinion is what you get, good or bad. I always ask for the same. After all, how can you improve if all you get is people telling you good stuff? Anyway, he sent me his new single (two tracks) and asked me what I thought of it. To be perfectly honest. The first track was too religious for me and I didnt think it fit the format of my shows. The second track, didnt really do it for me either (Im not saying it was bad, it just didnt suit my kind of shows), This is what I told him. So when I woke up this morning, I was annoyed to find that he has now started posting the video to the single in reply to one of my statuses that has nothing to do with music. Its not the first time hes done it either - hell often comment about his stuff on my statuses as well. Now dont get me wrong - Im no-one special, Im an OK presenter that plays what I think is decent music to a fairly loyal audience, and stations that take my shows are satisfied, as they continue to take them and often give me good feedback. The listeners seem to like what I play so if they agree with my taste, if I dont like something, theres a good chance they wont either. (Thats just my assumption). What really gets me rattled, is when someone doesnt have the grace to accept this one wasnt for me - the next one might be. It isnt their given right to inflict it on people who frequent my timeline and statuses. Im possibly the least arrogant person I know, and I never post my stuff on other peoples pages unless 1) Ive asked them if its OK first 2)Theyve asked me to - I think its rude to do otherwise. And I get really annoyed when someone - and I dont care who they are, thinks they can promote their stuff via me - particularly after Ive told them its not for me.
