This morning in an interview with a journalist from @bloombergTV; I had a vision about why FB must have bought whatsapp? Has it got anything to do with them forcing people to download the Messenger App in recent times? (Personal Hypothesis) Hell, its so simple. Basically they just bought over the phone numbers that whatsapp had! There are only two unique keys in this world to track you down - your email id & your phone number. Most of us believe in redundancy and therefore use one each for all social/personal stuffs. & now that FB has it and they have decided to launch a FB messenger App, its only soon that you will find yourself using the same app automatically irrespective of whether you have a FB account or not! Probably after that you will have new ads targeting you on the chat messengers like we did in the past for Yahoo/MSN. Or even ads basis the keywords you use on your chat boxes. What more can an Entrepreneur do to increase his revenues exponentially? I dont think FB can handle any more new ad units anyway. Look at your time-line & you will agree with me! Anyway, this movement will be as seamless as you getting connected to a G+ account irrespective of you using it or not through Picasa, through documents etc. Simple, Isnt it? As I said this is my personal hypothesis and would love to hear opinions from experts.
