This mornings wet and foggy world was accompanied by a hot cup of coffee and a trip to pick up my daughter and granddaughter for the day. A good breakfast and a movie that was too scary to watch -Aladdin- was rounded out with some good playtime. After lunch, Emma and I went up the hill with Willow to play and swing. Im loving the time to get to be gramma to Emma. Tonight Willow passed a threshhold. He did something he knew was wrong, though Im sure while doing it, he was just being a dog. But when I discovered him, the light turned on and he slunk away to avoid the onslaught of reprimand. I commanded him to come - yes it took a few repeats. But finally, he actually returned to where I was standing, holding the evidence and he sat down at my feet and endured the reprimand and the evidence for the sake of my command. Obedience is not his first choice, but he is learning to obey regardless of whether the outcome will be fun or not. Its a good step. This has been a pretty good day in other ways as well. My daughter seems to be getting a bit stronger though still sore and limited in movement. Shes a good mom and even though I am the arms and the fun maker for the time being, she is totally mommy and Im very proud of her. Yesterday my little shopping trip with Emma was cut short by a fit resulting from not allowing her to run loose among the glass ornaments. And though she really tried to reason with me, I allowed my judgment to stand firm. At one point she said she was so sad that I really ought to take her to McDonalds. I told her I wasnt that gramma. So today when I decided to take her shopping, she was super cooperative and we talked about what was okay and what was not and she assured me that she was having a much better day. Well that was a good excuse for gramma to spend some money! We are making a cloth doll from a blank bought at Hobby Lobby and its starting to look quite cute. Im sure her baby will have a nice change of clothes before we are finished with the 40% off coupons. We had some really good leftovers for supper -lasagna, cheesy garlic bread, salad and such and then ventured out into the night to buy a pretty nice Christmas tree for our season and some clay pots for transplanting. Well hydrate the tree in the garage where it will be cool for a while and then let it sparkle its way into our home. And thats whats new at the Woodall Cave of Wonders where the man is pretty good to have around, the dog is confused about the 3 year old and the woman is relatively busy and happy.
