We are also aware of the Janus faced (2 faced) nature of the police in reality and in propaganda, thus the media promote the welfare police image, they are there to look after you, and ignore the main reason the police exist, and that is social control (and in public order situations we all know what this can mean). Here is an example of the police welfare image promoted by the media, for an example that has no imminent political danger for capitalism. Our argument is simple, in crisis situations and in everyday social control of working class areas the police operate in an oppressive manner, but in middle class areas the attitude changes. Here in this example the police and media portray themselves as to the LEFT of public opinion;
