This past Sunday, I spoke about how #Advent offers Jesus-disciples he opportunity to resist the pattern of the this world, even the *Calendar* of this world. Advent offers us the opportunity to live into the Story of #Jesus and to be formed into his image, rather than conforming to the pattern of the world. Two areas in which the world seeks to conform us to its pattern are: 1) Consumerism; and 2) Racism. Two ways we can prophetically resist the worlds pattern is by: 1) Having our minds Renewed through bodily practices, or Rhythms (Romans 12.1-2); 2) Living into the Racially Reconciled Community Jesus created by his #Cross as a witness of Gods many-colored Wisdom to the Powers (Ephesians 2 and 3). #RescuedChurch #sermon #Ferguson #ResistTheWorld #RenewYourMind #liturgy #worship #RacialRighteousness #justice
