This past Thursday was my Birthday. No big deal, We all have them every year. I started the day by turning on the morning news. Your typical news day with discussions about the Superbowl, the ice storm in the south, a double murder in Murfreesboro and a bad car wreck in Hendersonville and other news worthy items. I went about my day coveing a shift at Advance Auto and then to catch up on some Real Estate activities. Then the first call: my wife informes me that the two young men who were gunned down in Murfreesboro were the son and nephew of one of her co-workers. Such a tragic event I thought. Not long after that when I call my son to plan a Real Estate showing he informed me that the wreck involved 3 of his co-workers. 2 died and one is in critical condition. No longer your typical day yet alone Birthday. My prayers go out to all the families of those involved in these terrible tragedies. Day not over yet: by this time I am sort of numb to the world watching the evening news and I get a frantic call from my daughter Jennifer. Her alternator has quit working and she is stranded against the center wall of I-65 in rush hour traffic. As I am going to rescue her and deal with the car and praying that she stays safe I realize that we have to take each day and hour as it comes. Be thankful for the blessings God gives you. Tell your family and friends you love them on a regular basis and dont watch the news on your birthday.
