This past couple of weeks we have enjoyed a once every 5 year visit from Ron and Christine Enoch. Chris is our adopted daughter. It is always a joy when they leave the South Sudan mission compound and visit their supporting churches in the USA. Their church is in the capitol city of Juba. South Sudan is a high percent muslim with over 11 million people. During civil wars of the last few years an estimated 2 million people have been killed, which you have not heard about from the US media. Apparently it was not news. South Sudan is about the size of Texas. At any given time there will be 26 countries at war in Africa. They are very professional at reproduction and murder. Many men are over 7 feet tall and some have been trained in the USA to play basketball. Another tribe is very small. Africa is a country of contrasts. The victorious South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit wears a Stetson hat at every photo opt. The hat was a gift from US President George W Bush when the SS leader visited the White House in 2006. Kiir liked the hat so much, he reportedly bought several more and now has a closet full of them. South Sudan is a democratic nation and Kiir was elected with 98% of the citizens voting.
