This past week, I have taken notice and made known, new technologies that literally have the ability to enslave entire populations. Mind mapping, and health behaviors are two I mentioned. But how about the government spying on its own citizens. The NSA is the Darth Vader of our govenment, and all under the guise of protecting us. The entire Internet, especially any social web site like this one is monitored, word for word. We are a few months or yeas away from having ID chips inserted under out skin. May become a mandate to receive government assistance like Obamacare, Medicare, or Medicaid. Now, dont get me wrong. Nobody is going to turn back the flash flood of technology. That is a bell that cannot be unrung. But we have the power, if we choose, to control how much intrusion the government has into our lives. We balk at showiing an ID in order to vote, but are willing to give our government the power to spy on every electronic transmission we make. Every phone call, every word on the Internet. We have it all wrong in terms of our priorities. But part of this is how great civilizaitons in the past, crumbled. We, in some ways are a duplicat of the Roman Empire. It owned the world. Then the citizens became enraptured with their own pleausures, and could not satiate their needs. Free food and galdiator game were DEMANDED from the Roman Senate. And they gave it to them to keep them passive. Is America far behind? This is a critical cross road in our history. What we choose to do in the next couple of years will spell out the course American takes. Exceptionalism, or insignificance. We choose. We could our country in a few years if each American cared 10% as much about how our government functions as they do about Halloween.
