This post is to let all know that I agree to the minimum wage going up. Im for 9.25 to 10.00 an hour. But a jump to 15.00 is not a good idea. Everyone should realize that the increase in minimum wage also causes an increase in other wage increases also. Duh. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! !! No they dont. I get asked why is your estimate so high to repair my wrecked auto. Well its like this, gas prices went up over a short period of time by 33 to 50 percent. My costs increased by 80 percent plus. Material rates that I charged did not increase enough to cover it. So my labor rate had to be increased. So by my calculations with an increase of 3 to 8 bucks an hour in the mim. Wage will cause an increase of 20 to 55 bucks overall on what I have to charge per hour. Example: The quart of paint I purchased 2 weeks ago cost me $115.00. So it will go to 142.00 to 215.00 a guart. Guess who is going to pay for that. You and the minimum wage earner. Insurance Companys are not going to absorb the increase either. Premiums will go up. So now more and more people with out coverage. I try to follow the insurance guidelines on pricing, but this time I will follow my own guidelines.
