This raises a few questions for me. 1. How widespread might these McCarthyite sweeps become? 2. Why does one need to go so often to a British paper, The Guardian, to find out about the United States? 3. Did the FBI even know that Sister Corita Kent had painted Ho Chi Minhs profile in blue on that Dorchester gas tank back in 1971? Once, in 1978, while walking around Havana one evening, a friend and I strolled too close to a big wall mural portrait of Che on a government building and were told by loud speaker to step back a bit. I felt jostled a bit. Not disillusioned but startled. No one arrested us, however, and if I was put in a database, I imagine it was my own countrys. Cuba is a little country invaded and under siege by a big one. Stuff happens.
