This shit is real... We need more music/artists like Maclemore, telling it how it really is. Not the garbage thats out right now, artist and lyrics force feeding young minds with false life-style promises. Every time I turn on the radio all I hear is game glorification. How much much money someone made in the game, selling dope, crack, pills, hard, soft, Tina, Dog food, crumb, lean, trees, etc. How they made it on the street by selling shit! They talk about surviving!!! Are you serious? Surviving? Bullshit!!! First off most of, if not all these clowns never lived what theyre rappin about, pushing the image of the game for their own benefit of record sales. Without consequence I might add. And dont tell me that you need to sell to survive the streets while youre wearing LV and Jordans! Secondly, these fools are wearing their drug-pushing statuses like a badge of honor. Making money off of someone elses misery. The shit sells itself, so youre a fool for patting yourself on the back. The image not painted in these lyrics are whats real. The hell that the addict, their family and friends go through. The suffering and deaths caused by the poison they sell. The game violence. The criminal activity. The incarcerations. Those things arent talked about. These rappers, the big record labels and those that allow this shit to be smeared all over the young vulnerable minds of this Country should be held accountable! Something needs to be done! Thank you Macklemore for a great dose of humility! For going against the grain and being lyrically real!!!
