This story is set in present day Saint Anthony Parish, Louisiana, where Rafael Hindel, a wealthy, centuries-old- werewolf American of English descent has returned to Louisiana to protect his grandson, thirty-eight year old Lawrence Hindel. Lawrence , who was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the brutal murders of an entire family and released into the care of a mental institution, has now returned to the mansion to claim his inheritance. When two teen-agers disappear on the Hindel Estate, Detectives Donavan Hays and Jack Olivier’ lead the investigation and once more look to Lawrence Hindel as their prime suspect.
