This too is GOD… Change in the natural world is subtle but relentless; seasons seem to give way gently to one another, even if the monthly motion is so swift we don’t realize we’re moving. But when the leaves start turning colors, it’s time for turning over a personal new leaf so that our lives might be restored. We must make efforts that would provide something new in our lives. We must ask ourselves, what do we require more or less of in our lives, so that we can love the life we are leading? In each of our personal earth’s life, there will be periods of fallow (fields plowed, but left unsowed even in a growing season). This action is not an indication of quitting. It only represents that we may be too parched to pray, beyond tears from grief/despair, or too drain to just give a damn. It takes courage to call a halt, to feel empty and discouraged. However, we must continue to go through the motions, keep showing up for work, whether that be a job, the stove to prepare meals, the sewing, or the computer. We need to be in motion until our authentic selves arrive. This is how we shall replenish the well in our lives. Now this is not an easy rest period in our lives, it is extremely difficult to come to a halt, especially when we desire to get on with our careers, relationships, health, creativity, etc. But we must remember that we need to replenish our well first. For whenever there is a dry period, there is also plenty of Light. What we select to do in that Light will determine our pace to replenish the well. This too is GOD’s involvement so that our real lives might be renewed with passion and purpose. Autumn to winter, winter to spring, Spring into summer, summer into fall___ So rolls the changing year, and so we change; Motion so swift, we know not that we move (Dinah Mulock Craik) (Inspirations taken from the reading of Simple Abundance by Breathnach)
