This viscous pit bull wandered into my yard a year and a half ago. - TopicsExpress

This viscous pit bull wandered into my yard a year and a half ago. It was going to be 20•f that night so I closed the fence on her that night. I set out some water and some ham then left her alone for quite some tome before she indulged. She was very skinny and skittish. I was intimidated because of her breed and immediately began looking for her owner. I called the local animal control and they told me, point blank that if no one claimed or adopted her she would be put to sleep and it might be better if I kept her for a while. I posted a picture on Facebook and Craigslist and had no luck. So she spent the night on the couch. My wonderful niece Liana (a vet tech) came by the next night and scanned her for a microchip. She had one but it was not registered. She had already been spade. After night two on the couch she started to come around and her tail began to wag. It was then I began to realize what a sweet nature she had. No one claimed her so I considered keeping her. I forgot to mention that on night two she woke me in the morning to go outside to the bathroom. Morning three came and she tried to wake me to go to the bathroom but I ignored her. That was the one and only time she has gone to the bathroom in the house and it was right in front of the front door. A year and a half later most figure she is now 2 1/2 years old and this is just one of the amazing things she does with very little training. She absolutely loves humans and has always been justified in her actions with other dogs while not having much contact with them. There have been no incidents with other dogs by the way. The only reason I mention it is because some other dogs have been ass holes to her and she just put them in their place. These were the trainers words. The other dogs were in the wrong. So if you think Pitt Bulls are a problematic breed, here is very much the exception. Everyone who has met this dog has liked her if not fallen in love with her. So that is Phoebes story. PS she was not trained to do water rescue.
