This was a compilation compiled by Skye Evans in about 2009 where bands from around the world were asked on MySpace to submit tracks. A lot of the bands probably no longer exist and cant be found outside of MySpace. It was a beautiful time back in 2007-2010 when folk punk bands were rampant and eager to get their music heard. There were a ton of submissions but the tracklist was limited to 40 songs, 20 on each of the two discs. The physical copies were limited to about 100 and sold out fast. The bands involved may not remember this too much but I felt it was time to put it up on an easier download site than the old crappy website linking people to MegaUpload which also no longer exists. This compilation was the main feature of the Acoustic-O-Punk distro that sold music made by people from every continent. The distro no longer exists but this compilation and Vol. II will now live forever. Cody Vann asked me to help out with getting this thing started, back when it was Punk-O-Acoustic but within a week, before songs could be submitted, asked me if I could take it over full time since I had the time. Once I opened the submission process, simply emailing me tracks and albums, everything snowballed into this compilation of beautiful music made by people who cared about what they were doing. They entrusted me with their art and Im happy to release it again, 5 years later, in this digital format for free. Thank you to all the artists who submitted songs back in the day, whether you were featured or not. Thanks to everyone who bought the album, downloaded it from MegaUpload, and anyone else who got the word out. It was a great time to make music, whether we look back on it fondly or not.
