This was my statement to the Planning and Zoning Dept. All but one of the statements were anti Master Plan. This has passed and is going to the commissioners. We need to call them and let them know how we feel. We need to be at that meeting and object. STAND FIRM. I willl be sending this statement to the commissioners as well as a detailed analysis of the entire master plan...I need help and support form all of you. First, I would like to make this board aware of the fact that even though you think that the people of this county are on board with this Master Plan, you need to think again. The people I have been talking to didnt even know it existed. I myself was only made aware of it in May. In fact, my township board doesnt seem know a lot about it and our treasurer stated that they told you guys they wanted no part of it. This is strange as your Master Plan states that you talked to the people from all areas, well, you missed a spot. You guys didnt eve bother to come to our township hall. You have been made aware that you are following the wrong public acts on several occasions this year. At the last meeting, one of the people asked why you are continuing to take this path. Scott Mc Neil stated it was because legal said it was ok. Well, maybe youshould look into the Supreme Court case of Lockaway Storage vs Alameda County California. In this situation, their planner and legal both said what they were doing was ok. Well now, because of their actions, the Supreme Court decided to award the victim 2.5 million dollars. The county doesnt have 2.5 million dollars, it is not hteir money. It is we the peoples money. Now, because of some bad planning and land use decisions, the taxpayers are on the hook for their mistakes. I for one do not want to see this in Cheboygan County, but it is coming if our rights keep getting infringed upon. Now, if you are determined to use this law as the guideline for what you so, lets take a look at it. We keep getting told by our employees at the planning department that if its not regulated, its not legal. Well, this does not sit very well with the more liberty minded we the people, so I started researching. This section of the law mirrors communisim. The law that I am refering to is PA110 of 2006 section 203. This is the one that both Scott and Steve are determined is the right one. Look it up. I will now read to you from the Constitution (Fundamental Law) of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of 1977. Article 18: In the interests of present and future generations, the necessary steps are taken in the USSR to protect and make scientific, rational use of the land and its mineral and water resources, and the plant and animal kingdoms, to preserve the purity of air and water, ensure reproduction of natural wealth and improve the human environment. Article 22: A programme is being consistantly implemented in the USSR to convert agricultural work into a variety of industrial work, to extend the network of educational, cultural, and medical institutions, and of trade, public catering, service and public utility facilities in rural localities, and transform hamlets and villages into well planned and well appointed settlements. You see, Hitler, Stalin. Lenen, Gorbachev, etc...they all too had Master Plans. Listen to this quote, The theory of the communistsmay be summed up in a single sentence: Abolotion of private property. This is from the Communist Manefesto written by Karl Marx and Fredric Engels. Every time this board tells us what we can do on our own private property, you erode we the proples rights. Until one day we will be able to do nothing on our own private property. You are changing the zoning on my property to lake and stream protection because of a small crik that runs through my property. This will effect almost my entire 40 acre parcel. The Michigan Constitution Article 1 Sec. 1 states that all political power is inherent in the people. Government is instituted for their equal benefit, security and protection. This means that we the peopleare in charge, not you. You are our employees and we are paying you to be here tonight to represent us. Article 4 Sec. 4 of the US Constitution states that we are to have a republic form of government. You are not abiding by this, instead you are forcing Communism upon us. In the Declaration of Independance, it states: We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. Our founding fathers fought and died for our freedom. If you do your research, you will see that they thought that private property was very important to the cause of freedom and liberty. A man needed a place to call his own and that no one else had a right to tell him what he could do there. Are we going to squander all the hard work they did for a few dollars of grant money. If so, this is very sad. I have an idea, instead of following everyone else, we step out of the box and make Cheboygan County the only constitutional county in the state. Lower regulations and see if maybe that brings people back, because your way is not working.
