This was posted on the Younique corporate facebook page: I happened to be at the Gaylord hotel this weekend, and we soon found out it was also the 2014 Younique convention. All of your associates were so beautiful, and so friendly. I want to send your organization kudos and point out how different your associates were compared to everyone else. There were lots of guests staying at the Gaylord that weekend, and some were not friendly, but the ones with the Younique badges always had a smile, a kind word and a helping hand to offer. But there is one associate that I hope you can help me find. My family and I were on a mini vacation, but we have a daughter with special needs and people are not always kind to kids with special needs in public spaces. My 9 year old daughter, Phoebe has Down syndrome and can be a little over-friendly with strangers wanting to say hi and give a hug or two. She has a lot of love to give. Unfortunately, many times I get dirty looks, and I find myself apologizing a lot. But the Younique associates at the Gaylord this past weekend were different. When Phoebe came up to them, they stopped what they were doing and were genuinely loving. The Younique associates reciprocated with sweet hugs and smiles, and gave Phoebe the opportunity to feel like a real person who is worthy to engage in conversations just like any other child. Believe it or not, that does not happen very often because people are scared of those who are different from them. But not with the Younique associates. Their beauty shined inside and out. But one of your associates really stood out. She was so nice, and I would love to connect with her if I could. When my 9 year old daughter with Down syndrome wanted to tug on her dress and bug her to say hi, this woman turned around and made her feel special. She went on and on about how beautiful my daughter was, and made me feel a lot less invisible too. Special needs moms carry a lot of guilt and we do not usually take care of ourselves and hope no one notices, but that is just how it goes sometimes. It made me feel good to have another mom connect and want to talk to mer too. Your associate told me she had a 20 month old son with Down syndrome. We connected because both of our children had similar health issues, and it felt good to have a real conversation with a real mom, but I did not get her name. She was tall with brunette hair. I was thinking there would be a way to post to your group on Facebook, but your page does not allow that. Is there a way you could ask the group? I am hoping the fact that she has a 20 month old son with down syndrome narrows the field down quite a bit. Regardless, I wanted you to know that the people in the Younique organization are worthy of praise. Thank you so much.
