This was sent to us today by member Cheralyn Lambeth. It is in regard to a post on her page last week that used a unauthorized picture of our group and had quite an effect on the cosplay community. We thank her for sending this along to us. Attachment from Cheralyn Lambeth: To whom it may concern: Last week a post that I had created caused a stir within the cosplay community. I shared a viewpoint on the Internet that reflected how I felt about the state of cosplay. While I did not intend to do anything other than to research and promote my upcoming book, I am sensitive to the fact that the views I expressed hurt and infuriated many within our community. In my posting, I included a photograph of one of the groups I am a member of, the Carolina Ghostbusters. The views I expressed were my own and not that of the group. I know that, the group knows this, but the public did not. As a member of the Carolina Ghostbusters, I am a representative of that group and an ambassador of the franchise, and I have been a poor representative of our group. The cosplay and costuming community has always been kind to me and has always been welcoming and a judgment-free zone for me. It saddens me that, as unintentional as it was, that I betrayed that very community, a community that has been supportive of my endeavors, kind when no one else understood me, and financially sustainable for me as a career. My actions hurt those whom I hold dear and that is unacceptable. I am ashamed that I was so close-minded at a time when we should be banding together and uniting as one proud community to stand against division and adversity. Even though I did not intend to mock, disparage, belittle, or otherwise discredit my fellow cosplayers, this is what happened and for that I apologize. The costuming world has always been where I have found my home, and I have disgraced it with my subjectivity and pettiness and for that there is no excuse. I write this letter with the sincerest of apologies and in the hopes that one day my actions against my community can be forgiven, though I understand this will take time. Thank you, Cheralyn Lambeth
