This water report is for the week ending 8/17/2013: • The current cycle began on October 25, 2010. • The pro-rated deficit as of 8/17/2013 is 373,889 AF (AF = Acre Feet of Water or a football field full of water, one foot high) for this cycle. • During the first year of the cycle, Mexico delivered 288,309 AF, during the second year 100,401 AF, and to date 221,237 AF for the third year. • The running total of deliveries for this 5-year cycle is 609,947 AF. Mexico is still short in in its water deliveries to the United States. Though they have been delivering more water in recent weeks, they still owe over 400 Acre Feet of water to the U.S. There will more more efforts from state and federal (local) officials to ask the White House and State Department to help collect water owed to the U.S. Conserve water!
