This week I am reminded of how my perception of God shapes the way I serve & receive from Him. In light of Easter, I have been asking God and myself - In what ways do I dismiss God, His presence and His revelation because it doesnt come the way I expect it to based on what I learned in the past or have been taught about Him? This, to me, is a foundational issue. If a doctrine divides the church and stirs up strife and discord - is it truly of the Gospel? If God shows up today would I miss Him because of what I think He should do? In Jesus day the Jewish nation had been looking for a deliverer, the promised Messiah, but He did not come based on the way they understood the Scriptures to predict His arrival so they rejected Him, His power, His work and His salvation for the sake of their own understanding... They could not see Him because they had come to worship their idea of God rather than embrace the God He reveals Himself to be. #changeme #reflection #thoughtsatEaster
