This week, Knight Oil Tools is participating in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) at Reliant Park in Houston. OTC is the oil and gas industrys largest technical conference and one of the largest trade shows in the United States. Last year, more than 104,000 attendees from 130 countries visited OTC. Conference organizers are expecting a record attendance of more than 110,000 visitors for this year’s event. The exhibition covers more than 650,000 square feet of exhibit space and is staffed by 2,700 vendors and suppliers. Exhibits are located in the Reliant Hall, Arena and OTC Parkway, an outdoor venue featuring exhibits, food stands and live music. Knight Oil Tools exhibit, located on the center aisle of the Reliant Arena (booth 8123), features an array of the companys latest drilling jar, pipe handling, cleaning and conveying technologies. The main feature of the exhibit is a working scale model of a pipe inspection facility, where a pipe conveyor system transfers pipe into an XPCM pipe cleaning machine. The XPCM pipe cleaning machine can handle pipe diameters from 2-3/8 inches to 20 inches. Once cleaned, the pipe is conveyed to the Hydrostatic Testing Machine where the pipe joint is automatically flanged up, filled with water and pressured up to 20,000 psi. When the test is complete, the water is drained and recycled for the next test. All of the companys six service lines and Knight Oil Tools International are represented in the booth to discuss product and services to the worldwide audience at the Offshore Technology Conference. #OTCHouston
