This week at track workout ... Santa Monica High Track (Fourth Street and Pico) 6:30 pm Wednesday nights WORKOUT: WE ARE BACK! (Designed to raise your VO2Max levels.) 800 meters 10K pace; 200 meters roll-on; 800 meters 5K pace; 200 meters roll-on; all times 3 = 4 miles total. TRACK LIGHT: (Designed to engage and develop faster muscle fibers, for the shorter distances, like 1 mile.) 400 meters; 800 meters; 3 X 400 meters; 4 X 300 meters, all followed by a 100 meter recovery (walk half, jog half). Following this is a two lap jog. 1 ½ miles (2,400 meters actually) total of intense repetition training. Add one mile of warm-up and cool-down, and 500 meters more of recovery between laps (a little more than a quarter mile). Please bring a warm jacket for after the workout, during stretch. Free parking is on Main Street (the other side of the Civic Center lot, as the meters go off before we arrive), or in the neighborhood off Pico. Have an inspired run!
