This weekend has had some ups and downs for me. I was a bit sad on Friday because I was about to shoot last wedding of the this year for me. This made me realized that I actually enjoy shooting weddings and I find this very challenging and great for improvement in my photography skills. Saturday morning was just very tense for me. Few hours before the actual wedding I started shaking and being just really nervous. It is not only the groom and bride getting nervous... but their photographer as well...lol... It is a live event, you cannot repeat it, you cannot tell them... stop for a second, let me adjust my settings and do this little part again.... you have to be dead on the first time. That is why I get soooo nervous. I am usually 40 min early... at least... I rather get a coffee in a near by shop and I know am there... or scout wedding location one more time. Traffic can be very unpredictable. The very last wedding of 2014 for me was actually the most difficult one when it comes to technical part of technology. The chapel was pitch black. I think there were only few spot lights hitting the people in ceremony, otherwise it was super dark. As soon as I walked in... I was thinking... oh great... I was warned once about this place. This is what they talked about... yeah.. that is really dark. I havent had a chance to start working on them but I know I have few shots there which I really want to showcase. The lighting of the lamps was so beautiful. I turned off my flash for few minutes just to capture the whole mood... I cannot wait to edit those shots. The schedule was also very tight. It is done, I am actually curious to see what images I have there... I will start editing them tomorrow.. I was talking to my second photographer Shannon on the way home and we both agreed that if a new photographer which is just starting out took this wedding... he/she would be in a big trouble. This wedding was definitely for someone really experienced. Very challenging one... Location: The Old Mill... no outdoor photography, only indoors and super dark chapel. Today I was just really tired. I came home around 1am, kids didnt let me sleep enough in the morning and I still feel all my muscles from all crunches and lifting my camera and equipment. Well, it was a great wedding season 2014. I truly cannot wait what next year will bring. I know it will be a really busy year for me... First wedding of 2015???? I am starting in March.... unless someone still calls me for Jan/Feb... zdenkadarula
