Friends and fans, As Some of you may or may not know- Last night my family suffered a devastating loss.. My uncle- Andrew Nouta- passed away last night at age 53. Most of you who know me, and have been to one of my shows - have probably met him or seen him at a concert. Usually I do not post about things that are very personal to me -but I feel I have to because this guy deserves it. Andy was a huge influence in my life and career in music. He took me to my first concert and went to almost 100 concerts after that.. and we were even supposed to go to Black Sabbath tonight.. He showed me how to play my first Riffs on the guitar ..He Bought me my first CD, He let me come over anytime I wanted to listen to music, borrow a cd, talk about music(or anything) we probably listened to thousands of records together .. If you were at a dryland band show (or any show that I have played) he was probably there, He was the one in the front row and he was having a better time than anybody else in the building. He has let me sleep on his couch, drove me to shows, picked me up from shows, he always supported me and my music from the beginning - even though he knew my life would be easier for wasnt a musician ...And he even pretended to like it when I was 13 and my band sucked.. Lol When I was a kid he was always there when I needed him.. Not only do I feel like I lost my uncle... I lost one of my best friends, My biggest fan, One of my idols and definitely the biggest influence Ive had on my musical career.. Im not posting this up looking for sympathy .. but I feel this is something Ive always needed to say to him - I just never had the words... He always loved me like his own son.. And he Supported me when nobody else did.. He made me believe I was doing something special, and even though he knew what I was doing was not easy- He always made me believe that one day it would be worth it. Over the years -Ive spent a lot of time with him, flipped a lot of steaks and a lot of burgers on the fire, drank a few beers, shot the shit, had a lot of fun, and Probably even gotten a little trouble..lol. He helped me Learn a lot about life.. He always drove me to be a better musician, and a better person. He loves music more than anyone else I know... And if I know one thing about my uncle Andy.. I know whereever he is- hes happy. .. And Knowing him- He is up there somewhere with a smile on his face, and hes probably backstage at concert in a better place than here..lol.. So, Have a drink on me, and save me a seat.. May you Rest In Peace.. I love you, and I will miss you. Andrew Nouta R.I.P (May 21 1961-April 21 2014) \ / \^^/
