This weekend, the much anticipated Bologna Summit is going on in its namesake city. This gathering deserves Eritreans support, first and foremost, for the simple fact that it is an Eritrean gathering. It deserves our support for its stated goal of eradicating dictatorship from Eritrea. It is anticipated that the summit comes with something concrete this time around. That is why I said the summit needs our support. I dont think the attendees need reminding that Eritreas future lies solely on the shoulders of its youth, nor it be accentuated that Its myriad of problems be solved by this one group gathering alone. It [Eritreas problem] needs more than that. It requires the consensus of all opposition forces and not the dogma of my-group-or-your-group mentality. I dont foresee any leap forward, as now writer put it, when individual groups dont reach out to other like minded groups; no matter what. As happened before, the summit needs to also take extreme caution that it hasnt been taken for a free ride by Higdefite elements in its midst. Success doesnt come on a whim; success can only be achieved with united front against our mortal enemy. I wish you the best in your summit; just dont climax the summit with the usual cliched phrase, akebana Bawet tezazimu.
