This weekend we went camping. I absolutely love camping. The last time I went camping I invited Family and Friends the day before Memorial Day for a smoked brisket dinner. Unfortunately the meat never got done before they left . As a matter of fact it was Memorial Day before it was ever done. So this weekend I wanted to redeem myself. My Sister Dakiea is a fabulous cook but this weekend she could not save (help) by throwing me a lifeline if my ship was to sink because she was recovering from surgery. I awoke early preparing my Brisket for the smoker. I had the Ham and the Sausages on stand by awaiting their time for placement In the smoker. The was a slight kink in the rib cooking department. My grill bellied up. Kyle came to my rescue taking the grill racks with the ribs on them placing them on a cook stove. He is my HERO for the day! The Fellowship is always better than the meal. There is just nothing to compare just good ole fun at a campsite with family and friends. Because of Dakieas ankle we lacked her famous home made Ice cream but my brother Johnny saved the lack of desert by bringing back a watermelon after he stopped at the store for plastic butter ( family joke) for the sweet corn on the cob. That was a good sweet melon! Thank you John and Kyle for all the cleanup work on the campsite before you left. I asked everyone to fold up one camp chair. My Brother and Pam left first but not before they picked up two chairs.. After Johnny and Pam left John and Kyle two picked up most of them, took down my pop up awning, and my tarp awning before I realized what they were doing. WOW! The Summer camping trips are over for 2014! I hope we can all get together again for the same fun in 2015.
