This year has had its ups and downs. 2014 has been the best but worst year that I have lived so far. I was able to take my children to Sea World, Animal Kingdom, and Disney. I had a job I loved and will try to get back to. Back in June I started getting headaches and by the June 30 I went to the doctor. I was sent to get a CT scan and the I was transferred to Greenville Hospital System. I was given a MRI to make sure the size was correct. I was told I had a tumor in my brain. I was so far out of it that I didnt understand. My mom was there with me and started calling everyone (first my husband). Within two days I had a CT and MRI scan and went into surgery. My doctor told my husband and my mom that it was the worst brain tumor he had ever seen. He didnt expect me to talk or to be able to move my right side of my body. I signed over consent to my husband and didnt even know that I did that. When I came out of surgery I started talking and by the next meal I was moving my right side of my body. I was only in ICU for less than a day and went back to a regular room. I was in the hospital for a total of 9 days. Since the hospital I have gone to numerous doctor appt. and went through radiation and I am still going through chemo. My husband and I have tried to make these last few months the best we could with everything that is going on. My children just thought that mommy got really sick and until they are older that is all that they will know. This cancer is called a Glioblastoma grade IV. There is no cure for my cancer but I will fight for my children, husband, family and friends. I lost my job over this, my insurance, and some of my memory because of this cancer. Hopefully 2015 will be better than this year.
