This year, the ECK PTO has initiated a new, fun student incentive we think you will love as much as we do! Spirit Sticks originated in Texas and are spreading across the country. Kids love these! The sticks allow them to share their activities, awards, and achievements in a durable, small, inexpensive, long-lasting fabric stick which they can keep for years to come. Sprit Sticks are displayed on a ring which is attached to backpacks. PTO has purchased an initial bundle of Spirit Sticks to be earned for good behavior, Box Tops, PTO members and Science Fair participants. PTO will be selling Spirit Sticks to students each month throughout the school year for $1.00 – these will be fun themes such as Minecraft, Looming, Frozen, Super Heroes and others. So the concept is there will be some they can earn through good behavior or academic achievement and some they can buy through PTO. Our hope is that we sell enough of the “fun” sticks to pay for additional “earned” sticks for students. PTO Spirit Sticks were distributed to teachers to give to PTO families this morning so check your students backpack if you are a PTO member.
