Those using SSP in Primary or High School within the classroom and/ or as an RTI please email supportgroups@readaustralia and I can more effectively support you, and link you with others in the same type of learning environment eg SEP, Multi-age classes, Prep classes. Will start group emailing next week. You just need to email your name, school and year level/ role - these will not be shared with anyone. If using SSP secretly as other programs are mandated, then Im happy for you to email me with your personal email (just let me know). I would also like to gather data from your groups/ classes without breaching confidentiality. So its important to assess your whole group/ class in week 1 so that we can really see how far travelled. You can use the same assessment for all other than Preppies. If you just put this up on whiteboard or laptop (you can do it in two or three burst, doesnt have to be all at once) then this also means I have a consistency for the data re the actual assessment process. You just print off the sheets for the kids to complete and watch the kids, not me - to check the answers are theirs. Checks code knowledge, blending, segmenting etc ie the foundational coding skills needed for students to be able to move to fluency and comprehension. Also means the kids can meet me, regardless of where you live. There will be masses of whiteboard lessons for students (more than there are now) and they will get used to my voice etc. (no rude comments thanks Kori et al). You just put the lessons on laptops or tablets and use headphones or splitters so the right students follow the right lessons.
