Thought for today: My sisters wedding ceremony was going along nicely until my niece, the flower girl looked at her mom and said, My feet hurt. Apparently her shoes were too small. There are fewer things more uncomfortable as shoes that dont fit; especially if you have to put up with it all day at work. It affects your back, legs, mood and your effectiveness, even if your job is easy. In Bible times, farmers would use a couple oxen to plow fields and pull heavy loads. If the farmer noticed one animal seemed to be hesitant, the first thing he would check would be its yoke. If it wasnt fitting properly around the animals neck, it could cause chafing and the ox couldnt pull. Many farmers would have yokes custom made for each animal to maximize its leverage. Jesus said, ...my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Jesus wants your yoke to fit you. He has designed one for you and you alone. He doesnt want your yoke to chafe and prevent you from pulling your weight, even if your burden is light. His yoke is easy......easy like Sunday morning. (Interesting how a song playing at a truck stop can get you thinking. )
