Thought of the day. I get tired of hearing people say there are no rules in pinstriping. If this was true, why are some designs very good and then you look at somebody elses design and know that something is wrong and missing, and if that person could have been striping for 15 years already. What creates the difference in quality? Its because that person who is doing really good designs understands basic principles (rules or guidelines if you want) of how colors work and designs are built. Color layering, crossovers at a sharp angle, overall shape of design, the use of positive and negative space, etc. Theres a lot of guys and girls who are pinstriping with many different styles and looks . And their work is tremendous, even though different. This is because they understand the so-called rules and guidelines that many dont want to admit to. Dont use the saying, there are no rules in pinstriping as a crutch. Study what makes great designs work ! Its all about the designs. Remember if you practice hard, the work will be fun.
