Thought of the day (relating to my last post)... Im completely uninterested in hearing anyones opinion of why you cant make a living in music, whether they are someones guidance counselor or parent or a lifelong blues player. If you feel that way Im truly sorry, especially if you are a musician who wishes you felt otherwise. But Im not going to make my own world smaller to validate your beliefs. Things I AM interested in hearing: other musicians and non-musicians thoughts on non-conventional music income streams, real talk on what has worked and hasnt and why, hilarious road stories, the songs youve written along the way to cheer yourself up when it got hard, inspiring stories of your and others small successes so I can celebrate with you... and the name and number of the guy whose venue you played at last week for a few hundred bucks. ;) Seriously though, Im interested in musicians supporting each other... we all win when we work together.
