Thoughts on UK vs Wisconsin. 1. Wisconsin rebounds the ball - TopicsExpress

Thoughts on UK vs Wisconsin. 1. Wisconsin rebounds the ball well on the defensive end, but UK is the #1 team in the nation at offensive rebounds.... this will be a key stat. 2. I dont expect Bo Ryan to start out double teaming Randle - If Randle makes him pay for that, he may have to adjust. I expect Decker to try to front Randle to stop him from getting the ball. 3. Wisconsin soft guards the ball screen. The help guy sags on the backside of the screen. IF UK ball handlers can sink the midrange shot, this will play to UKs favor. 4. Kaminsky can shoot lights out and has a super high Bball IQ. UK hasnt seen a 7 footer that can shoot like him. He sets a lot of ball screens and can really pop out to hit a jumper. Guarding this will be key. UK hasnt paid much attention to a pop out big man so far this year. Rotating also is key, but all the Wisconsin guys can shoot, so you cant get caught in the middle. 5. Traevon Jackson could kill UK in transition if they dont get back on D. He really pushes it and is a clutch guy. Gotta get on him quick on D. 6. UK must challenge every shot from every player. All these guys can hit shots. Wisconsin is methodical on offense, so its going to take a FULL defensive possession on UKs part. At no point with Wisconsin give you the game. Youre going to have to win the game... The Badger are super patient and disciplined. 7. Wisconsin moves the ball really well. High Bball IQ with lots of extra passes and they space out really well. Lots of posted balls get kicked back out and rotated. Staying disciplined on D is important for UK. 8. UK might not be able to switch every screen like they have most of the year. Kaminsky will eat a smaller defender alive, cause fouls and generally just mess up the whole day. I think they hedge hard and recover when Kam sets a screen, which is something UK hasnt done a lot this year. 9. UK needs to get isolations on Wisconsins defense. UK has an athletic advantage and isolating defenders is going to make it easier. UK may actually be better off using more dribble drive stuff this game than they have most of the year.
