Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of families, like mine, have loved ones on the Autism Spectrum. April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, kicking off April as Autism Awareness Month, and folks are encouraged to “light it up blue” to help call attention to autism issues and education with a mind toward greater acceptance and understanding of people who suffer from the effects of autism. People can do this by wearing blue, decorating their offices/homes in blue, or actually using blue lights or blue filters over their lights. Some people even dye their hair/beards/mustaches blue. I hope you will join me in participating in this important event. My family has seen firsthand the terrible consequences of ignorance regarding Autism.
