Three key things happened to the prodigal son that we shouldnt ever overlook or else the message of the parable would be distorted, and lost. In verse 17 “When he came to his senses... He said in verse 18 I will set out and go back to my father... In verse 20 So he got up and went to his father. HE FOLLOWED THROUGH ON EACH OF THE STEPS TO GENUINE REPENTANCE. REPENTANCE from a sinful life by the power of the Holy Spirit is a major part of what it means to give ones life to Christ and be a christian. #Dont just intend to repent #Dont just make plans to repent #REPENT!!! AND DO IT NOW!!! Genuine REPENTANCE would get you a compassionate hug, and a kiss from our FATHER, and heal/mend the broken wall of GODS protective edge around you again. Genuine REPENTANCE would cover you with a fresh robe of GODS Favour. Genuine REPENTANCE would restore the signet/ring of authority as a bonafide son back on your hands. Genuine REPENTANCE would deal with ALL your accusers, especially Satan (the striking serpent) And above all; Genuine REPENTANCE would delight your FATHER, HE would boast of your return, saying, MY Son was dead but Hes alive again; He was lost but Hes found. #If youre too big to repent; grace would be too small to cover you. #You arent too lost to be found either; thats just a lie Satan concocts to keep people lost. #You arent too dead to come alive again, only REPENT, hide under the shadow of THE ALMIGHTY. As per the angry elder brother; did you ever read that, that was the forgiven younger sons business??? No, his business was to flee every appearances of evil, and show gratitude for his FATHERS Love by walking in love. #The truth shall set you free indeed.
