Three years ago today, our world lost an amazing young lady. I had the pleasure of knowing Jessica Hill since she was just barely old enough to throw a ball. I remember her older brother and I picking on her when we were kids just like boys will do. Many times Id be riding home from school on my bike and pass her and her friends and stop to make sure they were going to make it home ok. On this day 3 years ago, Jessica became an angel, sent to heaven to watch over all of us who knew her. God has a way of working that none of us will ever quite understand. When I heard the news, I dealt with it in the only way I knew how. I locked myself in my studio and wrote. Tears welled up in my eyes as the words began to come alive and somehow I soldiered it all the way to the end. Somehow I convinced Kirsta Savage, who happened to be one of her best friends, to come in and sing the song. To this day I have no idea how she managed the courage to do it. It made me proud of her beyond description. For me, Jessica lives on through this song that we created for for. She touched the lives of many in our community. Shes gone, but will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
