Three years ago, we set out on a mission to deliver a grounded and relatable future setting for Call of Duty: #AdvancedWarfare. We met with industry leading technologists, futurists and military advisors – ultimately shaping our vision of the year 2054. We gravitated towards the exoskeleton and the various applications being designed today, and that led us to one of our first prototypes, the boost jump mechanic, in late 2011. It was a powerful moment for the team, and something we wanted to push the boundaries of – 40 years in the future. We’ve seen the exoskeleton become very predominate in popular culture lately, with films like Oblivion, Elysium, and Edge of Tomorrow, amongst others showcasing the technology. This week, an exoskeleton returned the ability to not only walk, but to kick the opening ball at #WorldCup2014! Scientists at Walk Again Project, and Juliano Pinto, kicked off the opening to the celebration in amazing technological style.
