Through September 24th, its been a wet year for some, but not so much for others. Even for those who have not seen much rain, we are not in a drought. Some areas inland are considered abnormally dry Florence is only 2.5 above normal so far in 2014. In 2013, we were a whopping 13 above normal to date. North Myrtle Beach is actually below normal! Last year was much wetter to date by 9. Lumbertons 2014 rain to date is slightly above normal by 1.4 These are just three official reporting stations. You could live 2 blocks from these sites and have significantly higher or lower totals. Thats the nature of convective rains (thunderstorms)...its feast or famine!
