Thursday, 10 July 2014 14:32 Ogun 2015: Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party Will Team Up to Force Amosun Government Out of Power in Ogun, Ayo Fayose Reveals By AfricanOutlook Reporter Ekiti State Governor-elect and South-West leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Ayodele Fayose on Thursday in Abeokuta revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Ogun State will team up with the State chapter of the Labour Party, LP, to defeat Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the ruling All Progressives Congress in the next political dispensation in 2015. Fayose publicly made this known at the South-West Peoples Democratic Party rally held at the party State Headquarters in Abeokuta, where he also appealed to all the aggrieved factional leaders of the party in Ogun State to shift ground in the interest of peace and success of the party at the next poll. According to him, he disclosed that, part of efforts to ease out All Progressives Congress, (APC) government from Ogun State was a meeting he held with Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the Labour Party leader and former governor of Ogun State, adding that he has equally made arrangement to meet with former Minister and aggrieved leader of PDP, Jubril Martins-Kuye to appeal to him. Hear him, Let me confess to you, Labour Party is going to team up with Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, I have met with Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is now leader of Labour Party, and also going to meet our leader in PDP, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye as well as other stakeholders. Fayose expressed optimism that, the feat recorded by PDP in Ekiti State will be repeated in Ogun State at the next general election, and appealed to the leaders of the party in the state to provide level playing ground for all aspirants, and there should not be imposition of candidates. He said, I gave them 16-0 in Ekiti State. Even former Governor Segun Oni of no fixed address lost in his base. They were taken by storm; for me my address in South-West is PDP. I am an advocate of no imposition, there should be no imposition in PDP. I will do a disservice to this party that gave me the opportunity of a second term if I come here and play games with your future. I am an advocate of no imposition. There should not be imposition in the PDP. We have taken away the knit from them; we have disgraced them out of power in Ekiti state. I am not Germany that gave Brazil 7-1; I gave them 16-0. By the grace of God, we did not only defeat the governor in the 16 local governments, we defeated all APC Senators and House of Representatives in their polling booths. Governor Segun Oni was defeated at his polling booth. That is how mighty God can be. God is the only one that can take away and install. The high and mighty were made humble. They were taken by storm. You will take them by storm in Ogun State. It is forward march, Fayose declared. And as many people that want to join this party will get a waiver to join this party. We must allow as many people as they want to join this party, whether they were here before and they left and they want to come back, the party must grant you waiver to come back. The party must allow all of us to exercise our rights so that at the end of the day, we will win. Let me say this to you, it is useless and wasted effort when you run a battle in politics and you loose. Usually it is winner takes it all. It this party wins, they take it away. I want us to win, he emphasised. The Ekiti governor-elect stated, We should allow a level-playing ground for everybody. We should work together as a team. Those in Labour Party will join us. I was with Otunba Daniel yesterday, I have spoken to him. I am going to meet our father, JMK. We want everybody on board. It is only when we win that we will have something to share. If we don’t win, there is nothing we want to share in zero. I plead with everybody to work together for the interest of this party and I want to appeal to everybody to let the best candidate carry the flag of the party. A poor boy who is selling pure water at the ward and want to be councilor, let us allow them. There should be no imposition. Therefore, all our leaders must shift ground. OGD must shift grand. Labour Party must shift ground. Martins Kuye and his group must also shift ground so that we can have a PDP that can win election. Then our president will now win and we will all be happy, he stated. This reason I must support you in Ogun State is this, if you don’t win in Ogun State, the pressure will be too much for me to bear. I therefore will do everything to support every state in the South-West to become a PDP state. I am going to summit the report of my visit to the party and I am going to ensure that this report is duly implemented to the glory of the party, Fayose said. He used the occasion to, warned that, anybody who has left this party and still using its appointment will loose it within the next one month, stressing that, the moment you defect, you cannot continue to enjoy our benefit. This party is not going to allow that to happen.
