Thursday about noon...My Mom Things surely havent gone as we hoped for my Mom. When we got to Greenville Monday night, the neurosurgeon said that she needed surgery for the bleed in her brain. At age 85, he wasnt sure he would put her through that because she would come from surgery on a vent and may never come off. Tuesday her cardiac enzymes were elevated and trended up through the day. By late Tuesday the neurosurgeon felt sure the cardiac event had eliminated the possibility of surgery. Tuesday evening she knew all of us, but not so Wednesday. We had her brought back to Goldsboro late last night and she is now in the care of hospice. She doesnt respond to us at all and it is pretty obvious that she is nearing the end. This has happened so quickly, we are very much shocked. Id had only three hours of sleep since Monday, so I came home last night. Caryn and some friends are with her at hospice so I can try to get rid of some pain. I truly pray that God will send His angels, as he did in Luke 16:22 when the beggar died. Mother has been a Christian for more than 60 years in preparation for this time. VERY difficult watching the dying process! She never wanted to be on life support, so she isnt. Thank you all for all the ways you have shown your love for us, especially your prayers. I will try to post here later tonight.
