Thursday update on Nancy... from Tim... Nancy had her surgery this afternoon to remove the port. The surgery went fine but because she is on LDN the strongest pain medication they could give her was Tylenol. (LDN and pain meds classified as narcotics dont mix). Needless to say shes in some pain but is relieved that the port is out. She is in the hospital tonight and tomorrow we are hoping that the cultures come back so the doctors can determine which abx is best to treat the infection. We have to take it day by day as were not sure when the cultures will come back and if she will have a PICC line inserted as a short term solution for her ongoing abx infusions. More wait and see. Nancy is suppose to get her BVT treatment tomorrow and this could be problematic if shes still in the hospital. We are trying to convince the floor nurses to ignore any buzzing sounds if we can sneak our beekeeper up to her room. Speaking of which, Nancy is getting the title of the bee woman from the nursing staff as several have found her Bee Venom Therapy quite fascinating. At least one nurse was going to watch Nancys YouTube video when her shift was over and a couple nurses have stopped in Nancys room to see her back. If Nancy could charge admission, wed have her hospital stay paid for! LOL! All things considered, Nancy is doing well and greatly appreciates all the positive energy being sent her way. I have read all the comments being made and I see how much it lifts her spirits. Thank you everyone so much!! I will keep you updated as things develop.
