Dear Swim Coaches and Team Managers With the rising standards of swimming at the British International School Phuket (BISP) in Thailand, the school’s professionally coached swim team, Flying Fish have introduced an elite coaching programme from August 2013. The aim is to combine academic excellence with performance swimming by offering a fully comprehensive package of boarding, tuition and swimming, to enable long term development and a pathway for securing College swimming scholarships with worldwide recognition. Athletes at BISP will be offered a balance between their academic studies and swimming at an elite level. Swimmers will be committed to attending up to 10 training sessions a week plus access to an outstanding dry land programme. Facilities at BISP include: 8 lane 50m pool and 8 lane 25m pool; Specialist functional training room attached to the pool for instant access; Full time nurse; Quality boarding house accommodation (single ensuite room), including housekeeping and laundry service; Refectory offering breakfast / lunch / dinner and snacks 7 days a week; A fully comprehensive primary and secondary school. We are looking for a small group of select athletes to be awarded this opportunity to gain exposure to world class education, coaching and facilities. A limited number of part and full boarding/tuition scholarships are available. To be eligible to apply for the High Performance Swim Team, athletes must be / have been involved in a national senior or junior squad, or have the potential to do so.
