Time for an update I suppose. Essentially, I’m on antibiotics but I am okay. I’m posting this here because I’d rather you hear it from me directly than from another source. This past weekend, I developed some pain in my lower abdomen. It started as a dull pain on Saturday and developed a little sharpness to it on Sunday; it felt centered on the bladder, however, so I figured that I had a bladder infection that I needed to hydrate. Monday morning, I awoke with a great deal more pain. I was taken to the doctor by my father and after a round of tests and a CT scan the diagnosis is that I have diverticulitis. Essentially, my large intestine has “pockets” that can get food stuck if I don’t eat a high-fiber diet. I’ve been on antibiotics this week to deal with the infection I currently have, and they have been working. My pain was drastically less Tuesday, and has been declining even more the last few days. So, I’m on the mend.
