Time for me to weigh in on GOTHAM! Okay.....Gotham is beautifully set and filmed, very Detective Noir centering on Jim Gordon who is a military veteran of some sort, shown as one of the few clean cops on the GCPD and is a total Bad-ass. Interesting story arcs abound; Hints at a dark past for the soon to be Barbara Gordon (Jims wife, not the daughter/Batgirl), the interest of the very young Selena Kyle in the very young Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth shown as more of a batman (i.e. personal groom/steward) for Bruce Wayne, with an almost harsh, english tough-like personality (much less sophisticated than previous incarnations). The only actual villains we have, as of the premiere episode are Fish Mooney and Carmine Falcone. As well as the usual thugs and a lot of corrupt cops, but thats about it. What we really have is some fantastic foreshadowing of dark personalities who may become villains at some future point, such as Chester Cobblepot. Ed Nigma, Selena Kyle and Ivy are just characters who are in odd or trying situations and havent even come close to the pivotal moments that could define them as villains. Overall, very well done. Good balance of characters, good writing and so much potential! I am hooked.........
