Time to Rethink solutions outside the lines drawn for us. I live in a complex with over a hundred families and very few of us know any of our neighbors, what we do, what we have to share or offer or need and how we can help each other live without being enslaved to the corporate debt grid. We all shop in the same places, go to school to get the same franchised corporate jobs or careers if were lucky and go into a lifetime of debt. We are paying $1500 to $3000 a month in major cities just to rent spaces to live in that we dont own. We are told that working jobs we hate are just the way life is and we should be grateful we have one and are not being called lazy moochers a burden to the state while they cut our survival resources. I think we have to move from being owned workers to being worker owners and from competing for the few resources they leave us to cooperating to create more together. Now I dont know if we have to go out to the countryside to create intentional communities or if we can recreate our existing neighborhoods to work more closely together for a just, peaceful and healthy life but I do know that we must change how we are doing things! We are all getting sick and old before our time because we are being harvested and extracted for our working years and ideas to feed the greed of multinational corporations who value their shareholders but not our humanity. So lets rethink how we live together and cooperate, grow food and eat food, shop for things and barter things, what we borrow and from whom and how we vote with our dollars for the type of life we all want.
