#Tithing Obey The New Law... So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. (Luke 16:8 NKJV) Many christians and their leaders have their minds blinded in the reading of the Old Testament laws and principles, because they dont see the old law of tithing as been fulfilled in Christ Jesus (Rom 10:4. 2Cor 3:14). • They, out fear and greed for gain, failed to walk from old to new law with God, Who sent His Son to meet all the requirements of the old law for us, and established a new law for us; for the Lord Himself says, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35 NKJV) Its not a new law added to the old one, but an entirely new law without any attachment to the old one - 2Cor 5:17. > The priesthood that has the ordinance/commandment to collect tithes from the people of God has been changed, likewise the law that required them to do so; For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law...For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. (Hebrews 7:12, 18-19 NKJV) THE CHANGE HAS BEEN DONE - Heb 8:7-13. • We have a new law of love in Christ Jesus better than the law of Moses and the works of Abraham; by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant...But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises...to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 7:22; 8:6; 12:24 NKJV) > We have the new wine in Christ Jesus and it should not be put into the old wineskins; the hope we have in Jesus is far better than whatever you believe in the law of Moses and works of Abraham. Many christians still find it hard to accept this truth, which confirmed what Jesus said; And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’” (Luke 5:39 NKJV) * Under the old covenant, people rob God if they dont bring livestock/crop tithes and offerings; But under the new covenant, ministers that collect monetary tithes and offerings according to the old law are robbing people; and people that pay tithes according to the old law are under the curse of the old law. • Earlier this year when I made a post about how tithing is not scriptural under the new covenant, somebody commented comparing tithes with government taxes; He said that if you dont pay your tax the government will put you in jail. I tried to show him how Gods kingdom should not be compared with any government of the world. Yes, many like him sees Gods kingdom the church as the government of men. His idea of comparing tithe with tax called my attention to the words of Jesus saying, the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. Because even in the government of the world, like in the part of USA where I leave, the parking meters are covered during the holiday season, making parking free for auto drivers. No police can give you parking ticket at any meter once a bag is placed over the parking meter. Its also violation and foolishness for somebody to open the bag for payment after the bag is in place. • Like in holiday free parking, no one is expected feed/pay nor panelized for failure to pay/feed the meter; so under the new covenant, no one in Christ Jesus is expected or penalized for failure to pay tithes; For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4 NKJV) > The blood of Jesus is like the bag the law enforcement put over the parking meter during holidays, making it free to park. And as Paul said, all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. (II Corinthians 1:20-22 NKJV) • The death of Jesus on the cross has freed us from the curse of the law and qualified us to receive blessings and the promised Spirit - Gal 3:13-14. His resurrection has put us above condemnation whatsoever - Rom 8:1-2. We are heirs together with Christ Jesus - Rom 8:14-17, and nothing can separate us from His love - Rom 8:28-39. > After the death and resurrection of Jesus, it becomes sin to observe the old law. Now we have a new law called the law of Christ, which far better than the law of Moses and works of Abraham; Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2 NKJV) • We, under the New Testament, dont have to pay tithes to fulfill the law of Christ but to bear one anothers burden out of love; For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. (Galatians 5:6 NKJV) > Observing the old law under the new covenant is separation from Jesus and His grace; You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. (Galatians 5:4-5 NKJV) • Once Jesus cried its finished on the cross, it becomes a work of iniquity to observe the old law; it is an act of lawlessness to observe the old law in Jesus name under the new law - Matt 7:21-23. Such act makes a believer foolish; remember the parable of the ten virgins in Matt 25:1-12. > And observing the law of tithing after Jesus came and fulfilled it on the cross mean you are denying that He came in the flesh and paid it all; you are saying that His grace is not sufficient; Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world...and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (I John 4:1, 3 NKJV) • In the body of Christ, we have the law of free-will giving to the poor. We are called to give to the brethren and ministers in need. Its through our generous giving that we bear one anothers burden; Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common...Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. (Acts 4:32, 34-35 NKJV) > For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have...So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. (II Corinthians 8:12; 9:7 NKJV) • We need to change with God, move forward with Him. Remember Lots wife and the five foolish virgins! Its foolishness to observe what Jesus Christ already fulfilled on the cross - Eph 2:14-15. Col 2:14-15. Be Wise! Jas 1:5.
