Tizzmo guddy interview with one of magazines Supastar Magazine Online Please do tell everybody who is TizzMo Guddy and how did the name came about, where was you born and raised? TizzMo Guddy is a youngin from the South, raised in the East side of Soweto.I also spent a couple of years growing up at a village called Mapate in Venda. The name TizzMo came from a musical term ‘fortissimo’ which is pretty much the loudest expression and then Guddy was added to define me loud & crazy but also ‘good’ in what I do which is making music.so that is not how TizzMo Guddy came about. You’ve been doing music for a while now dropping various mixtapes digitally, tell us where and how this music thang begin in TizzMo’s World? I started off the same way everyone would.I had friends that used to rap in cyphers and battles and thats how I got interested in Hip Hop. After a year of experience in freestyling and battling,I was advised to put my work in the mic and make songs. Thats when I begged my mother to buy me a computer so I could create my own bedroom studio because I couldnt afford studio time. I was still a youngin (14) when I was now able to record and make beats all by myself even though I was told to quit and focus on getting a better education,I never dropped out of shool and neither did I fail.Education is the key and it made me who I am today so thanks to my mother who worked so hard and believed in me even when days were dark. You belong to a crew called Macfam tell us how did that all start about? It all started when I was in high school with a friend named Ronald Baloyi (Smokey Yaygo) who once told me about a song he downloaded on facebook by Mac J MacFam.He made me listen to it and I never believed the song was local.I then got hungry to work with the king so I started collecting all the songs and had to work hard to impress him.Luckily he noticed my work. You’ve been in the music industry for some time now…what do you make of Venda’s music scene? Venda has got some really talented musicians and our industry is growing.People need to understand that this is a market and we wont all sell the same products so that explains why TizzMo Guddy sounds the way he does now. There is no duplicate of me and there wont be.In order for our music to cross boundries is if we can also cater for every country in the world.I respect every venda artist and I say keep pushing the world is waiting to hear what we we got. Do your parents support your music? As you may know many think it’s a bad influence.. My mother (Gladys Dathi) supports me fully but she just gets concerned about my safety and health, if you know what I mean.lol. Im a stoner, not because Im a rapper but cos I love my trees. Hip Hop does not mean you have to be a smoker to be a good rapper. Its all about how hard you work on your craft and what plans you got to become successful and survive in the industry. Many people are saying Venda is full of fake artist and we lack Originality ,what’s your take on such critics? What makes them say we fake? Is it cos we took a old vintage car and made it look new? This is why we can now compare ourselves with artists from overseas. We originally good. We just have to compete to win. Do you have any lucky lady in your life at the moment and does she support your music career? Yes I have a lady. Her name is Palesa Letaba and I love her.We met in high school and we fell inlove when we were sharing the same desk in class in grade 10. I loved her ever since and I remember making her a song titled ‘Palesa’ which I made as a birthday gift from me to her. Thats when things got really Serious. Oh Lord! Lol. She’s my motivation, she tells me not to give up when I have to and thanks to the lord for this loyal & beautiful woman. So far you dropped the following Mixtapes,TizzMo Guddy is Macfam, Martian Great, Martian Great 18, Martian’s Dream and Martian Season, Should we expect an album soon or theres still more mixtapes coming through? What are your next projects and who are you working with? Im not yet ready for an album cos Im not ready to focus on music full-time. Im still young and I need to focus on getting a degree at university first. For now all I can promise is more mixtapes and videos. Who im working with next? Anyone who kills it, I’ll burry (jump in). Many artist’s cant afford studio time or the equipment so it results to bedroom studios or basement studios what words encouragement do you have for such artist’s? Keep pushing… Learn and stay loyal. Where can your fans and people looking forward to work with you get hold of you? Email me at tizzmoguddy@gmail, I’ll listen and if its good I’ll get back to you. What final words would you like to add? EDUCATION IS THE KEY to open all closed doors… Stay loyal.
